Cancer Care Program

Cancer refers to a broad range of diseases characterized by the abnormal growth and division of cells, which can invade and damage surrounding tissues. It has the potential to spread throughout the body.

Cancer is the second leading cause of death worldwide. However, advancements in cancer screening, treatment, and prevention have improved survival rates for many types of cancer.

Mutations in the DNA of cells cause the development of cancer. DNA is organized into genes, each containing instructions for cell functions, growth, and division. Errors in these instructions can disrupt normal cell behaviour and contribute to cancer development.
